Directions:

Springdale bouldering area:

From Fayetteville: Take South Thompson going north into Springdale. Turn right onto 412 east. Follow 412 past the airport to Butterfield Coach Rd. Turn left there, and follow it for a couple of miles past Cramalot (a business) and take a right on Lutz. Lutz is the second road on the right past Cramalot. Lutz will fork pretty quick, and you will want to go right. From here it will turn to dirt, go another couple hundred yards to a small dirt road on the left hand side. Take that and follow it to the massive overhang. Park in the pulloff by the overhang.
I've read of possible access problems, but have never encountered any personally. Be sure to pack out all trash, and behave like Ladies and Gentlemen. Let's keep this great area open to climbers.

Lee Creek Bouldering Area:

From Fort Smith: Take I-540 North to I-40 West. Take 40 West to Van Buren and get off at the Hwy 59 exit in Van Buren. Take 59 North for about 20 minutes, past Cedarville and almost to Natural Dam. Take Independence Rd. to the left. This will be the last road on the left before you get to the Lee Creek Bridge in Natural Dam. Follow Independence Rd. for a mile or two. The main boulder is on the left just before you get to the second pulloff on the right by the creek. Park at the second pulloff.
This area has about 8-10 routes put up mostly by myself and a couple friends. There is quite a bit of potential for more routes in the area. A long in length, but fairly short in height bluffline up the hill from the main boulder may prove to have some bouldering potential. More boulders are down by the creek. The main boulder is on private property, as well as everything on the left side of Independence Rd. We have spoken with the owner and he is cool with us climbing there, but keep the area clean and be on your best behavior. The locals may harass you, anyway, so beware.

From Fayetteville: Take Hwy 62 west out of town, follow this through Lincoln. Turn off on Hwy 59 south and follow this all the way to Natural Dam. You will cross the bridge over Lee Creek. Take the next right after the bridge. It will be Independence Rd. Follow Independence for a couple of miles until you get to the creek. The main boulder will be on the left just short of the second pulloff by the creek. Park at the second pulloff. This is a nice place to climb after work, or to get a decent workout. Ratings will probably go from V0-V4 right now. Let me know how your trip went if you climb at Lee Creek.

40 Acre Rock bouldering area:

From Fort Smith:Take I-40 West, just west of Russellville take exit 78. Take road just to the left of the offramp and cross back over I-40. Take the first right just after the overpass. Follow the road running parallel with the interstate. Look for the highlines going up the hill. Park at the base and hike up the dirt road to the crag on the left. Bouldering is scattered up hill on left. Nice sandstone bouldering...the actual rock kinda reminded me of the Sam's Throne sandstone. Another little bluffline is in a gully down the hill and further into the woods. Kinda chossy, but you could find some problems there.

Sunset Bouldering Area:

From Fort Smith: Take Hwy 71 North.

Lee Creek Bouldering:
Gator toping out on Bouldergeist at the Lee Creek bouldering area. This area has about 8-10 developed routes, with quite a bit of potential around. This is a good area if you are looking for a little bouldering session after work.
Springdale Area:
Gator bouldering under the prominent roof. This section has upwards of 20 routes under it from what I'm told. With bouldering scattered out all over the area there is plenty for all skill levels. Springdale is definitely one of the best places to boulder in Arkansas.
40 Acre Rock Bouldering
Gator bouldering at the matress wall. You'll see why it's called that when you visit. If you can get past the eyesore of all the trash, 40 Arce offers a good day of bouldering.
Sunset Bouldering Area
Rich attempting to pull off a seriously sharp crimp. Sunset reminds you a lot of Springdale with the multiple roof areas. If you decide to rope up the Shepherd Springs crag is just 15 minutes south.
